Redding, Ct, 8/26/18. My census has increased the past few days to about 20 total hummers. Apparently some of the migrants have decided to stay for a while. There are 3 adult male Ruby throats, 1 adult male black chinned (a regular summer resident the past 3 years), and about 16 females and juveniles feeding at 12 feeders. A few are nectaring at flowers. I notice that 2 of the juvenile males have developed a single or double red feather om their throats.
