We are in extreme drought. Our watered gardens contain the only flowers (turk's cap and honeysuckle) on our farm. All others have died. We believe we are seeing an early migration of male, female, and immature hummingbirds. For the past two weeks, we have been seeing an incredible number of birds daily. We have 7 30-oz feeders out and are filling them at a rate of over 150 ounces of sugar water daily. Note: The number of birds sighted is a very conservative estimate of daily sightings.
