Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 07/17/2018

Number: 5

first butterfly sighted in midJune, the earliest ever. Since then Monarchs have been in my yard every week or so, sometimes lately three at a time.
I had my first ever chrysalis on July12, and it emerged July 24. Fantastic!
Throughout mid July and August there have been as many as 10 to 12 caterpillars at a time and some reached 1.5 to 2 inches, but then disappeared. I now have 3 one inch large caterpillars and the two 2 inch ones I can't find again. Hopefully they made a chrysalis somewhere. Three days ago Monarchs were still laying eggs here in my North Olmsted, Ohio garden!
