When I was present for 2 hours, I saw two males feeding on va clc butterfly bush...As has been the case for weeks, they seem to be feeding all day--or the vets are seeing Monarchs all day, possibly different ones over the course of the day, but when my 99 year old dad and I watch them over the course of a couple hours, it tends to be specific monarchs feeding for the entire time...Typically, they've been shunning the numerous nearby marigolds, roses, panzies, and many other varieties of flower in favor of the butterfly bush...This has been the case for weeks now. Occasionally one lands briefly on one of these other flowers but doesn't remain long.
