Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 08/26/2018

Number: 2

I did not get to examine our rather large patch of milkweed. I think we now have about 1/4 acre of milkweed but I noticed a couple of chewed leaves and saw a tiny one and a "teenager". I will make a thorough count this weekend. The plants are looking shabby by now. We generally see the larvae in late summer or fall. Never in the early summer when the plants are lush. We do see adults now and then all summer.
