Today after an all night and morning rain lasting until 2:30 PM, I decided to take my walk at 3PM as the sun shown brightly. I noticed that the goldenrod was in full bloom and I took a picture of a monarch that was visiting the last flowers on a milkweed plant. Here are the counts at different locations:

Weather was sunny to end of counts at 5PM with the wind WNW-6 inland and NE-10 along the lakeshore. Temperature was 74F. Thirty-five of the monarchs listed were in directional flight.
