Over the past 2 weeks I have released 11 monarch adults, 9 females and only 2 males. These were raised from eggs on my milkweed.
I notice that most all of the females are larger than usual. Is this because they are the migratory generation? And why so few males? In fact, all summer my females have outnumbered males by 3 to 1. I do get a good close look at them.
