Immature male ruby-throated hummingbird nectaring from Russelia sarmentosa (broadleaf firecracker plant). We have had hummingbirds off and on in our yard since 11 July 2018 and every day since 31 July 2018. At first they only nectared from flowers but later started feeding from feeders. Yesterday we saw 3 at once in our back yard. We believe that our first migrant (an adult male) appeared 24 August 2018. In the spring we had hummingbirds from 29 March through 1 May 2018.
