6:35pm. We were having a campfire in a wooded area on the western edge of a field, when we noticed A Monarch riding the thermals high up in the trees. Saw a few more, then a few more. Wind was coming in from the east. Walked out to the edge of the woods and saw dozens flying around. These were roosting in my Cottonwood.
