This morning my friend called and reported 35 monarchs just north of town on flowers in fields by his house. So, I decided to take my afternoon walk and observed 79 more monarchs. The monarchs he saw and the ones I counted were not migrating. The monarchs were feeding on Purple Loosestrife, Goldenrod, Queen Ann's Lace, Joe-pye-weed, and New England White Aster. Weather was sunny with the wind S-9 gusting to 14 mph. Temperature at 4PM was 72F.
