Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/01/2018

Number: 5

Had at least 5 ruby throated hummers today. Had 3 immature males and 2 females (or 1 female and 1 juvenile of unknown sex). No adult male was sighted today which is first time since spring. Miss seeing that bright red throat! But the immature males are going to be beautiful some day. They are nice large birds and very dominant. Saw a hummer nectar from a fox glove and a corn flower for first time. That was a fun sighting as we just planted them this year. Last hummer left the yard this evening at 8:02 pm. They have been maintaining a quitting time of just after 8:00 pm for several days.
