3 Monarchs exited their chrysalises today in areas adjacent to Monarch Waystation No. 21186, also known as our backyard garden. All three are female. We applied Monarch Watch tags to two of them. The lady in the photo is preparing to launch from leaves of a key lime tree. First one left the yard on a purposeful southwesterly
flight. Did not see first flights of the other two. These three are numbers 42, 43 and 44 to leave our garden since August 13.

While observing the trio over a period of a few hours, also saw a 4th Monarch zipping across the backyard in a purposeful southwesterly flight.
