two birds are around every day feeding intensively--one spends time on a wire apparently guarding the feeder, chasing off the other one--seem to be a female (clear white throat) with a lot of white in the tail feathers, and a young male with a stripey neck which will become his red throat--the red cast in the photo is reflected light from the feeder
