Adult female eclosed from chrysalis in container ( see below) around 8.00 a.m - left to dry for 2 hrs then released on to mint flowers and joe pye weed. Active, flying and feeding.
(as reported previously: caterpillar had developed naturally from eggs laid on asclepias tuberosa plants in a garden container - two 5th instar larvae were transfered to a tupperware for last two days of feeding, then both pupated one day apart. The second adult female also eclosed
a day later Sept 5th around 8.00, released as above, active and feeding)
