3 male Monarchs exited their chrysalises in a net cage adjacent to Monarch Waystation No. 21186. Had placed them in the cage on their penultimate day as 5th instar larvae. Tagged all three with Monarch Watch tags. Watched them fly separately into nearby maple trees to continue their first-day orientation process. Did not witness first flights.
