My friend gave me a 2nd instar caterpillar she found on decrepit-looking common milkweed in her garden. There isn't much good milkweed left so she entrusted its care to me knowing I search for lush milkweed so the cats grow fast. Their clock is ticking. We awoke to 53 degrees this a.m. The balloon marks her yard.
