Hummingbird, Nectaring from Flowers

Date: 08/31/2018

Number: 2

Monarch Waystation #271 reports several sightings of 2 birds while looking out on my front yard through the kitchen window. @8:05 am 1 bird with no or tiny white tail spots was nectaring on Tithonia blooms in front yard. In a flash it was chased away be a 2nd bird as I came through the front door. Could not see field marks for 2nd bird, both birds gone in a blink. @12:55 pm I was able to get binoculars on the tiny bird as it perched to rest on a sunflower stalk next to the Tithonia. It had tiny white tail spots, well-striped throat. It then briefly nectared on Tithonia and flew off. So, at least one bird was a male.
