Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/06/2018

Number: 1000

We (cycling club) were out for a ride along the Lake Ontario shoreline and stopped to watch continuous flow of monarchs flying west along the lake. A person at the stop said the monarchs had been flying past for the last four hours! We estimated there had to numbers well over a thousand!
When we got back to town (Cobourg), friends who lived close to the lakshore mentioned there were "thousands" of monarchs that had gone over their backyard.
