Nightly roosts for six consecutive nights were observed beginning Aug. 30 with about 150 monarchs, followed by an estimated 1,500 on Aug. 31, with largest roosts on Sept. 3-4, estimated at more than 2,000. This last roost departed Sept. 5 on favorable winds.
