Sightings report image

Date: 09/07/2018

Number: 5

Observation times were 9am to 10am and again at 7pm to 8pm. This was the second day in a row of having not observed the apparent male that has hung around for three days. Otherwise, observed were five females with two of them appearing to be juveniles. One extremely plump female has been very dominate in chasing the other females from our three feeders. First observation time temperature was 63 degrees, 58% humidity, cloudy and wind speed of 5 mph out of the NE. Second observation temperature was 69 degrees , 78% humidity, sunny after a brief sprinkle and wind speed of 8mph out of the NE. More rain is in the upcoming forecast and tonights low temperatures are expected around 54 degrees. other than the feeders the only plants I've seen the hummers hitting
on occasionally is the red single bloom Rose-of-Sharons, a red blooming tropical plant sitting on the patio table, our Salvia farinacea "Victoria Blue" and the few petunias still blooming in the hanging baskets.
