Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/09/2018

Number: 2

Discovered 2 caterpillars on my Tropical Milkweed as I was bringing them in for the winter. Brought them inside as well as they are only 3 & 4 instar, respectively. Not sure there is enough time for them to pupate into adults before the weather turns & I have plenty of Milkweed for them in captivity if it’s too cold for them to survive. I can freeze Milkweed from my gardens & an area meadow if necessary as well for overwintering if they happen to be a mating pair. Will contact help if it gets to that point from my Monarch group, area schools, & the local MSU Extension office.
