Monarch Larva Sighted

Date: 09/10/2018

Number: 1

Unbelievable. I looked down and and saw a second instar sitting on my kitchen floor. Now where did this guy come from? The only thing I can think of is that it has been on my clothing since this morning when I pulled a couple shriveled common milkweed stalks. I checked every leaf but maybe when I pulled it I knocked this guy off the plant and onto my clothing. That means it's been hanging out since about 9 a.m. and now it 2pm. I think when I sat down about a half an hour ago to report an earlier sighting to Journey North that this larvae must have taken the opportunity to climb off. It's lucky that I saw it before my cats did. Guess I'm not done yet but.
