Seen on the south side of the pond (near the duck house), feeding on sunflowers. I saw it first at 10:10 am and it stayed getting nectar for 6 minutes, then flew off. The temperature was about 65 degrees.
It was a female in poor condition. The color was not faded but it was completely missing its lower left hind wing. I was surprised it was still able to fly, and I watched it go from flower to flower before it flew off. There was a patch of milkweed next to it but I never saw it go over to the milkweed parch. I also checked the patch later for eggs and did not see any.
