We have about 8 (maybe more) at times. They are a mixture of females, males, and young Ruby-throated Hummingbirds. We have three swings and another hanging perch situated among our feeders hanging from the patio in the backyard. There is a lot of territorial "fighting and chasing" among them. We also have feeders hung at our living room, kitchen, and one bedroom window which are all
"claimed" by specific hummers and defended as well. My husband and I simply adore our little hummers and dread the day(s) they must depart to their wintering habitats, but we know that it is nature's way.
