Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/12/2018

Number: 12

So much action from at least 12 ruby throats. Haven't ever had this many hummers stay around for so many days. Winds out of the south might be holding them here. Haven't ever seen so many immature males migrating like this year. Some juveniles are in the mix. They are all really taking in the nectar. Haven't seen so many hummers fighting for or feeding on the same feeder for a few years. We must have had more than a dozen individual hummers last Thursday as the activity then was even heavier than today. Quitting time tonight was 7:45 pm.
