My wife and I have lived in Raleigh for 4 years after moving from NY.
Three years ago I collected about 30 seed pods from NY and brought them here.
I planted about 30 seeds in my back yard. This year on August 6 a female Monarch laid her eggs.
We had about 95 caterpillars on the leaves.
This week we have hurricane Florence coming. We collected all the caterpillars, put them in a fabric container. Tonight we have 6-8 cocoons. Will keep you posted on their progress.
