A caterpillar was observed on 9/3/18 hanging in a J on butterfly weed. The next day it was a chrysalis. The adult butterfly emerged on 9/12/18. I presume that this is one of the caterpillars observed 8/29/18 (on that date I only reported one, but observed several more during the next few days).
