Observed a Tachinid fly parasitoid on Tropical Milkweed in my garden. So far, two of the wild monarch chrysalis in my garden have been parasitized by the Tachinid fly. To date (Sept 13, 2018), I have observed approximately 24 successful monarch metamorphosis from chrysalis to adult monarch butterfly in my yard. Now watching an additional 19 chrysalis in my yard and hoping they will be successful. I also have observed 5 other 5th instar larvae become still and are likely to pupate overnight.
