With winds out of the south for 9 days now, the monarch counts are rising. We saw 15 or 20 in our own yard and another 10 to 15 in cycling venues in the southwestern quarter of the city (Minneapolis).

In our garden, there were many on tithonia and lantana, with occasional visits to zinnias, sunflowers, tropical milkweed, and hummingbird feeders.
