Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/13/2018

Number: 10

This is a second observation for the same day, but for the time from 7pm to last hummer visitation to feeders at 8:10pm. Temperature at observation time was 74 degrees, humidity ticked up to 59%, partly cloudy skies and wind was calm. Two male hummers were observed, with the currently residing juvenile male being dominate. The other adult male appeared to be a southward migrating visitor stopping by to refuel as this was the only sighting of him and all our residing adult males had left over a week ago. Eight verifiably different females also were observed with one of those being a juvenile. The plumpest female also shared in being dominate of the feeders with the juvenile male. Only sporadic visits were made by the hummers to the two red variety of Rose-of-Sharon. Expected low temperatures for the night are predicted to be around 55 degrees.
