Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/15/2018

Number: 12

Still have a passel of ruby throated hummers constantly feeding and fighting. At least 12 were still here this evening. Keep expecting to wake up to only a few hummers present but have been very pleasantly surprised. An adult male ruby throat showed up this morning. He was kind of slim but in beautiful shape. This is latest date in September I've ever seen an adult male in my yard. Very identifiable immature male has been around for several days. I'm still amazed with how many immature males have passed through. Could have had up to 14 individual hummers today as adult male was not present this evening nor was a female that has been guarding a feeder for 3 or 4 days. This migration season has been unbelievable for us. Quitting time this evening was 7:38 p.m.
