Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/16/2018

Number: 8

Observation time was from 7:15pm until last hummer in for the night at 8:01pm. Observation time temperature was 82 degrees, down from a daily high of 85 degrees. Humidity was 51% with winds at 4mph out of the East. Cloud cover was scattered. A total of 8 verifiable individual hummers were sighted. One was an adult male, assumed to be a migrating traveler as he was very distinctively marked and I hadn't viewed him at all this season. (sadly I missed getting a decent photo of him). Also seen was the two dominating juvenile males that have been here and five adult female hummers. Occasionally observed hummers making trips to the red variety of Rose-of-Sharon and hanging baskets of remaining petunia blooms as well. Expected lows over night around 64 degrees.
