Monarch Adult Sighted

We live on top of a mountain in the Town of Oneonta, NY. We are surrounded by at least 2 - 3 acres of indigenous grasses and a lush forest canopy. We have natural springs on the property and over the years have planted a variety of “deer resistant” perennials like Russian Sage, Joe Pye Weed, cosmos, lavender and bee balm all which bloom from early spring to late summer / fall . We also have cup flowers close to the house which are seeding. On August 15 I saw several monarchs on the Joe Pye Weed which surrounds a topiary that is covered with wisteria. Since then we’ve seen so many monarchs too numerous to count on the JoePye Weed and Russian Sage. The golden rod is in full bloom on the grassy fields surrounding our property. This is the first year we have seen so many monarchs and they remain on the property. These exquisite pollinators are magnificent and we are humbled by their arrival. I know we have some showy milk weed on
the property. We live in upstate NY on top of a beautiful mountain - the topiary is just 100 ft from our home. Nature has a way...
