1 adult female and 2 juveniles managed to visit the feeder while the "resident" male wasn't guarding it. When the adult male returns to his post in a nearby tree, he chases everyone else away.

I believe this adult male is the same one I've been seeing for awhile. At this time, his behavior seems to be territorial, not migratory. I was delighted to see him - and the others - once the worst of Hurricane Florence had passed.
