Beginning mid-August we have seen as many a five adults (once a mating pair) at a time on our orange milkweed bushes, many eggs, numerous larvae, and several emerging adults. In 12 years at this site we have never seen more that 5 monarchs in a year, although I successfully caged 3 larvae and released the new adults one year.
