Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/19/2018

Number: 190

I counted 190 migrating monarchs passing though the neighborhood in 1 hour, 8:45-9:45 am. Most were up high, and many came in groups of 2-8. A large percentage were not flapping, either gliding or circling in updrafts, quite often in pairs. A 10 mph easterly wind helped them along. What a great sight!
