This is a prime year-round birding spot called Jack's Ck. Access on ebird. It is located at the delta of the Bruneau R. arm of C.J. Strike Res. in Owyhee Co, Idaho.
Had stepped back from edge of water when this Monarch came drifting along in front of me just above the tules (a type of marsh reed common here in the Northwest). It was heading in a generally SE direction.
