Hummingbird Sighting

Date: 09/21/2018

Number: 3

Something special happened this morning. I was away from home for 12 days. I feared that the hummingbirds were gone for the winter, but refilled the feeder anyway. A female showed up last evening. This morning, I went out on the porch to enjoy the cooler temp. Shortly, she ( I have only seen singular female, so at this point, I assume there is only one) showed up. She looked at the feeder, then at me. Then, she drank, and I said, “Good morning, Sweetie.” She came closer and hovered for a few seconds. Repeat. The second time, she came to about a foot from my face and hovered a few seconds. I took this to be hummingbird language to say, “Hey! Where have you been? I missed you!.” Just saw 3 at once, so now I know there are more.
