Signs of Fall
Sightings report image

Date: 09/22/2018

Number: 1

On Sept. 22, I spent quite a while out on our 20-acre waystation area and saw many signs of Fall. The area has a number of swales & berms designed to control erosion while creating habitats for many types of wildlife. The berms are planted in organic wildflowers, many of which have bloomed and gone to seed, along with the many grasses. I only saw 3 Monarchs, but there are still plenty of dragonflies, crickets, toads & frogs, and the occasional great blue heron, peregrine falcon, and redtail hawk. It will really feel like Fall when the geese visit again!
