Migration continues to wind down in Oakdale MN. Saw only 5 ruby throats at once in the evening. At least 2 moved on since yesterday. The hummers have slightly higher preference for flower nectar over feeders. We have black & blue salvias, pinkish Wendy's Wish salvias, 2 red Ember's Wish salvias and 3 firecrackers for the hummers to feed from. According to notes I made last year at this time this preference occurred at that time also. Toward the end of the evening 5 single hummers were each sipping from a different feeder. Quitting time was 7:19 p.m. Oakdale MN.
