Hummingbird Sighting
Sightings report image

Date: 09/24/2018

Number: 4

Observation time was between 6pm and 7:35pm. Temperature at observation time was 69 degrees, 98% humidity due to occasional drizzle, cloudy and winds out of the SSW at 9mph. All four hummers were female with the smallest one being quite young. It appears the very large female was the one I viewed the night before. She perched and drank on the feeder for over 7 minutes and left almost due south, not making any further visits to the feeders. All of the other three females made several return trips back and forth to feeders and then flew to nearby shrubs and trees. Possibility of a fifth hummer seen but unable to verify as a separate individual or not. All appeared skittish of my presence so they may all have been migrators. Daily forecast is for partly sunny, windy then turning to scattered showers late afternoon. High temperature expected to be around 75 degrees.
