Monarch PEAK Migration

Date: 09/25/2018

Number: 30

There are tons of adults flying around our property. They rest in a line of trees at the back of our yard. This has become an annual occurrence.

30 monarchs is our best estimate. There were so many in the tree that it was difficult to count them. There were three different branches that my daughters and I counted about 10. But there were some that kept moving around.

Over the last 5 years or so, we have had this happen at least once in the fall. There is one tree at the back of our property where they seem to gravitate. Incidentally it is above the part of our yard we have tried to leave natural and indigenous. The first time we saw it, the tree looked like it was moving! It was unbelievable! I will look tonight to see if they are there!
