On the 4th of September I had 24 caterpillars in my garden. They ran out of milkweed and I had to purchase more to get them to cocoon stage. The garden centres are not planted enough in one pot and few people like myself are prepared to the number of eggs that are being laid in this area. Everyone is running out of milkweed. I have saved seed and hope to be able to establish enough for next year. Am also trying to find common milkweed seeds because I think that this is the type that has bigger leaves.
