I observed a Bald Eagle in the gauge of the railroad as we approached on a train. It was eating a carcass and reluctantly wanted to leave its place in the tracks as we blew the horn it tried but was not successful in flying away with the carcass. It flew to the north circled back over a bean field as to wait for the train to go by. It was seen 4 miles east of Sidney and about 3 miles west of Pemberton.
