The photo shows a female Monarch resting on a hibiscus plant in a container adjacent to Monarch Waystation No. 21186. She eclosed late Saturday afternoon (9-29), then spent the night on the hibiscus. This lady was at least the 60th Monarch to leave our garden since mid August. She departed the plant between 10 am and 10:30 am. We did not witness her first flight. She had spent the previous two weeks in her chrysalis atop a door frame on our back porch.
