On 10/1 I saw one several times returning to the butterfly bush to feed. I also saw one newly hatched that was in the milkweed field up the street and I found one caterpillar that I brought home . It is quite large and with the rain coming for a few days and the tangle of under growth it would have to travel to get to a suitable place to pupate I thought it best to bring it in. Toady 10/2 it is already ready to J hook. It is "normal" to see late cats and butterflies in my area, even after we have frost. Luckily we are have a warm temps so far.
