Sightings report image

Date: 10/03/2018

Number: 1

A flurry of bird activity is occurring in my neighborhood - a combined flock of robins, hairy woodpeckers, downy woodpeckers, a red bellied woodpecker, black-capped chickadees, brown creepers, sparrows, and blue jays have been pecking through leaves in my metal gutters, exploring and pecking the vinyl siding of my house, examining crevices on patio furniture, decking, tree trunks, and posing on railings. The flocks seem to be dominated by robins. This occurred both yesterday and today. Yesterday was cold and overcast with a high of 54, low 48, while today is overcast but very humid and 76F.

Photo shows a red-bellied woodpecker on a white mulberry tree.
