Well, I have two chrysalises left to emerge in about a week. Also, I've seen lots of adults flying through my property (3.5 acres)--I don't know if they are "new" or are in transit. I've tried putting out several pans of water in places where I've seen them congregate (I put a plastic Monarch "decoy" on each pan to draw them in toward the water). I've also shown as many people as I can the chrysalises and told them about their journey--I also showed a group of adults the silken web the larva spins to secure itself to a leaf; they were totally engrossed and stared in amazement. Even though they had grown up in a rural area, they hadn't ever seen anything like that before.
