Still seeing a few monarchs on Tawas Point. Watched 12 monarchs fly out over the waters of Tawas Bay this morning from the end of Tawas Point. Was 50 degrees with a strong southeasterly wind around 11 AM. 12 individuals were seen over a 15 minute period. One fell into the water, but after a few minutes was able to take off from the water and flew back to the point where it landed in a tree. The winds were blowing them from the tip of Tawas Point northwesterly towards the mainland of Michigan near Tawas City.
