1 Monarch eclosed mid-morning from its chrysalis along a pergola beam in the patio area adjacent to Monarch Waystation No. 21186. Was unable to determine sex; did not see first flight. This was the 62nd Monarch known to leave the waystation garden since mid-August. For roughly the past week we have seen no Monarch larva on the milkweed plants. A single Monarch female butterfly has been in the garden and yard for the past several days, feeding and generally floating about, enjoying life. Daytime temps have been in the low 80s, and nighttime temps in the high 60s to mid 70s.
